About The Position

Mister Sparky Mid-America is experiencing significant growth and is seeking a proactive and process-driven Permit Specialist to join their team at their Lowell, AR headquarters. This in-office role is critical for managing the administrative lifecycle of electrical projects, ensuring permits, inspections, and power downs are executed without error. The primary objective is to create stability and eliminate confusion through a rigid communication process, ensuring all stakeholders are informed weekly.

Requirements

  • This is an in-office role based in Lowell, AR.
  • Must be available to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
  • Experience in permitting, dispatching, or administrative project management is preferred.
  • Must be "persistently pleasant" and able to follow up with government offices without losing composure.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of open files simultaneously without letting a single detail slip is essential.
  • Proficient with computer systems, CRM software, and online government portals.

Responsibilities

  • Pulling Permits: Accurately prepare, submit, and acquire electrical permits for all municipalities in our expanding service territory.
  • Code Compliance: Maintain a detailed "cheat sheet" of specific requirements for each city to ensure zero rejected applications, keeping our project pipeline moving efficiently.
  • Logistics & Scheduling: Act as the logistical lead, coordinating with city officials and utility companies to schedule final inspections and power disconnects/reconnects immediately upon job completion.
  • The "No-Wonder" Policy: Ensure that zero customers call in asking, "What is going on with my permit?" by proactively providing updates.
  • Weekly Pipeline Audit: Review every open permit and active job file weekly to ensure nothing falls through the cracks during this period of high growth.
  • Mandatory Weekly Touchpoints: Send weekly status updates to every customer with an open permit and distribute a weekly schedule of upcoming power downs and inspections to the field team.
  • Closing the Loop: Verify that all inspections are passed, paperwork is filed, and the customer is officially closed out in our system.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management to support the evolving needs of the department and the company.
