About The Position

Irving A. Robbins Middle School is seeking a Permanent Building Substitute for the 2026-2027 school year. This is a great opportunity for individuals interested in obtaining a teaching certification or supporting their local district. The position offers direct experience working in the classroom as a teacher or paraprofessional. The role will primarily support the Middle School (Grades 7-8) and may occasionally assist the High School (Grades 9-12) as needed. The daily pay rate for a Permanent Building Substitute is $144.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• Experience with school-age students
• Must be fingerprinted within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Candidates with State of CT Teacher Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the Middle School (Grades 7-8) and occasionally the High School (Grades 9-12).
• Work in the classroom as a teacher or paraprofessional.
• Be available for an assignment every day that school is in session.
