About The Position

Walla Walla Community College is accepting applications to fill the part-time role of Perkins Program Coordinator on the Walla Walla Campus. The strengthening CTE for the 21 st Century Act of 2018 (Perkins V) is a principal source of federal funding to states and discretionary grantees for the improvement of secondary and postsecondary CTE programs. The Perkins Coordinator will assist the Dean to ensure Perkins V requirements are implemented and appropriate records maintained by providing general, advisory committee, and budget support.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent AND Two years of office experience in the program specialty OR Equivalent education/experience

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the collection of data and information for the Comprehensive Local Needs Assessment (CLNA) including the internal Size, Scope and Quality data worksheet
  • Assist in stakeholder engagement at WWCC and in the community, which may include meetings, development and deployment of surveys, etc.
  • May assist in the writing of the CLNA
  • May assist in writing Perkins plans (e.g., Perkins Plan, Perkins Leadership, Perkins Non-Traditional, Perkins Special Projects) and Reports of Accomplishments
  • Participate in SBCTC Perkins related trainings
  • Monitor, for audit purposes, CTE program advisory committees to ensure they are meeting minimum requirements as defined by SBCTC.
  • Monitor, for audit purposes, advisory committee files such as meeting minutes, Programs of Work, and rosters to ensure they are being regularly updated/uploaded.
  • In coordination with the Dean, update advisory committee handbook, guidebooks, templates, forms and trainings annually or as needed
  • Assist Deans and Administrative Assistants in training WWCC employee leads on necessary tasks outlined in the guidebook
  • Gather, review, and identify applicable requests for funding as aligned with the appropriate Perkins Grant (e.g., Perkins Annual Plan, Perkins Leadership, Perkins Non-Traditional, Perkins Special Projects).
  • Disseminate received requests to the Dean for prioritization and notify individuals of approval or denial of requests.
  • Purchase approved equipment requests according to WWCC, Washington State, & Federal purchasing requirements in coordination with Purchasing Manager and Grants Fiscal Analyst.
  • Coordinate travel on behalf of approved faculty and staff in accordance to WWCC, Washington State, & Federal travel requirements by preparing prior approvals, making travel arrangements, and completing expense reports upon return.
  • Track activities and expenditures planned for each academic year as aligned with the appropriate Perkins grant funding source (e.g., Perkins Annual Plan, Perkins Leadership, Perkins Non-Traditional, Perkins Special Projects).
  • Review status of Perkins spend-down with Grants Fiscal Analyst and the Dean to confirm available funding will be utilized in a timely manner.
  • Complete and maintain Time & Effort Reporting.
  • Create Time & Effort Reports for identified individuals using information provided by the Grants Fiscal Analyst.
  • Distribute reports to appropriate personnel for signature.
  • Collect signed reports, send copies of signed reports to the Grants Fiscal Analyst, and maintain hard copies, as appropriate, for Area records.
  • Maintain financial records by gathering and storing required and supporting documentation according to the established filing system.
