About The Position
Assists anesthesia team by creating all IVs and IV setups. Sets up offsite anesthesia cases by transporting gas machines and Pyxis back stands. This is a team-structured work environment with a high amount of collaboration required. Performs a variety of technical and supportive tasks to assist daily clinical operations. Performs routine and delegated duties according to departmental policies.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
- Basic understanding of mechanical equipment.
- Self-starter who requires little or no supervision.
- Ability to respond appropriately to life threatening situations.
- Effective multitasking, interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a stressful environment.
- Working knowledge of supply chain or materials management.
- Working knowledge of surgical and anesthesia procedures.
- Computer skills
- Hand use: grasping, gripping, turning
- Hearing acuity
- Peripheral vision
- Repetitive hand/arm use
- Seeing – Far/near
- Audible speech
Nice To Haves
- BLS Certification, preferred.
- Previous health care experience, preferred.
Responsibilities
- Prepares operating rooms for surgery by assisting with equipment and supply needs, setup, and routine maintenance.
- Assists OR team with room turnover, patient beds, and transportation of case carts.
- Maintains inventory of relevant surgical supplies and equipment.
- Transports patients, labs, gross specimens, and blood, as necessary.
- Creates all IVs and IV setups.
- Sets up offsite anesthesia cases by transporting gas machines and Pyxis back stands.
