About The Position

Performs a variety of technical and supportive tasks to assist daily clinical operations. Performs routine and delegated duties according to departmental policies. Prepares operating rooms for surgery by assisting with equipment and supply needs, setup, and routine maintenance. Assists OR team with room turnover, patient beds, and transportation of case carts. Maintains inventory of relevant surgical supplies and equipment. Transports patients, labs, gross specimens, and blood, as necessary.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Basic understanding of mechanical equipment.
• Self-starter who requires little or no supervision.
• Ability to respond appropriately to life threatening situations.
• Effective multitasking, interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure in a stressful environment.
• Working knowledge of supply chain or materials management.
• Working knowledge of surgical and anesthesia procedures.

Nice To Haves

• BLS Certification, preferred.
• Previous health care experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists anesthesia team by creating all IVs and IV setups
• Sets up offsite anesthesia cases by transporting gas machines and Pyxis back stands
• Prepares operating rooms for surgery by assisting with equipment and supply needs, setup, and routine maintenance.
• Assists OR team with room turnover, patient beds, and transportation of case carts.
• Maintains inventory of relevant surgical supplies and equipment.
• Transports patients, labs, gross specimens, and blood, as necessary.
