About The Position

The Perioperative Technician cleans and maintains operating rooms and equipment, secures supplies for the operating room team, and restocks rooms. Patient care duties include positioning, transferring, and transporting patients throughout the various areas of Perioperative Services.

This is a full-time, 1.0 FTE, day position at North Surgery Center in Jacksonville, Florida. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Obtain BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association within 30 days from the date of hire.
• Less than one year of patient care experience (such as nursing assistant, surgical technician, or medical assistant), supply chain experience, operating room experience, or relevant medical equipment experience.
• Customer service skills.
• Manual dexterity and computer skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to read, spell, perform simple math, write clearly, and understand written and oral instructions.
• Effective computer skills, including typing and use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
• Demonstrates teamwork and communicates professionally with all members of the healthcare team.
• Willingness to learn new methods, procedures, and techniques resulting from departmental or organizational change.
• Ability to adapt quickly and easily to change and adjust behavior and approach to work when necessary to achieve goals.

Nice To Haves

• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Patient Care Assistant (PCA), or Medical Assistant (MA) credential.
• Three to five years of patient care, supply chain, operating room, or relevant medical equipment experience.
