About The Position

Lakeview Hospital is looking for a Perioperative Surgery Assistant to join our team! The Perioperative Surgery Assistant will assist surgical personnel in the provision of patient care according to department and hospital standards. They complete other supportive tasks as necessary to ensure the safe and efficient functioning of the surgery environment. This role supports the Sterile Supply Coordinator and is cross-trained to this position. The Perioperative Surgery Assistant will understand sterile technique (can recognize sterile field), OR processes/procedures, and be able to facilitate turnovers (cleaning of the OR, proper disposal of hazardous waste, regular waste, linens). This role requires excellent communication, organization, and critical thinking skills, and the ability to take direction and work independently.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current AHA BLS or ARC CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer & Healthcare Provider BLS.
• Excellent communication, organization, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to take direction and work independently.

Nice To Haves

• Previous surgical environment experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Experience working in a hospital setting.
