Perioperative Support Technician (PST)
About The Position
Highland Hospital is recruiting a Perioperative Support Technician to support patient care in the Pre-anesthesia and operating room areas. The role involves gathering supplies and equipment, assisting with room turnover, setting up specialty beds as needed, and transporting patients, instrumentation, and supplies. The technician maintains the safety and cleanliness of the operating room suite in accordance with department regulations and hospital policy. The position is part of a fast-paced, collaborative operating room environment at a 261-bed community teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Rochester Medical Center. The facility has 17 operating rooms and uses cutting-edge technology. The schedule is Monday through Friday, days and evenings, plus call and weekends.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience.
- American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification required.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lift, bend, stand, and walk for extended periods.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work as a team player.
Nice To Haves
- Six months of previous related experience preferred.
