About The Position

Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is looking for a dedicated Perioperative Support Equipment Coordinator to join the team. This role will be full-time day shift from Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM. Requirements

• High School or GED
• Two years of OR hospital experience to include at least one year of surgical equipment experience
• Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association required within 3 months

• This role is technologically inclined as Operating Room equipment can be more challenging and complex.

Responsibilities

• Assists with surgical room setup with the high-end technology such as integrated video systems, understands the functionality of high-tech equipment and its use.
• Coordinates patient care while retrieving and delivering requested supplies, instruments and equipment to the operating rooms as directed by the surgical team.
• Communicates effectively and work cooperatively with others, and maintains respect for and an understanding of other clinical disciplines.
• Provides equipment support for operating room staff and surgeons before/during the operative procedures to avoid procedure and turnover delays.
• Troubleshoots operational problems with equipment during set up and operation.
• Disassembles, cleans, and assembles equipment in accordance with department, vendor, biomed and infection control policies, and procedures.
• Supports additional projects and duties as assigned.
