The Perioperative Services Tech supports the surgical team by performing various duties related to patient care, environmental maintenance, and supply handling in the operating room and perioperative areas. Working under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Surgical Technologist, this position is crucial in preparing the surgical environment and ensuring safe, efficient care for patients undergoing procedures.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

Assists with patient care and observation duties under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, LPN, or Surgical Technologist.
May assist with set up of operating rooms for surgical procedures.
Opens sterile supplies and instruments under the direction of a Registered Nurse or Surgical Technologist, ensuring proper aseptic technique is followed.
Stocks, sets up, and maintains specialty carts and equipment needed for surgical procedures.
Maintains supplies, equipment, and instruments in a clean and aseptic condition.
Performs routine cleaning, disinfection, and trash removal in the perioperative environment.
May assist with transporting patients safely to and from the operating area.
Replenishes stock of supplies, medications (as permitted), and linens before, during, and after procedures.
Provides excellent customer service by greeting and assisting patients, family members, and healthcare team members.
Complies with hospital policies and safety standards, including infection control and personal protective equipment (PPE) guidelines.
Performs other duties as assigned to support perioperative services.
