As a Perioperative RN at CHI St. Vincent, you will prepare patients for surgical procedures and assist in the operating room, ensuring they receive excellent nursing care. Your daily tasks will include reviewing consent forms, answering patient questions, conducting preoperative assessments, ensuring equipment readiness, and updating family members on surgery status. You will also directly assist the surgeon during the operation. Success in this role requires the ability to maintain focus while multitasking, remain calm under pressure, and exercise good judgment in emergency situations.
