About The Position
MaineGeneral Health is offering an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team Operating Room team at the Thayer Center for Health in Waterville. This position is M-F with no call, weekends, or holidays. However, there is an expectation of cross-campus training to be able to float to the Alfond Center for Health if needed.
Requirements
- Current State of Maine RN license (or ability to obtain promptly).
- Minimum of 2 years of operating room experience preferred.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, flexibility, and critical thinking skills.
- Effective communication skills with patients, families, and team members.
Responsibilities
- Plans, implements, and evaluates patient care plans based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
- Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
- Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral, and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
- Maintains and troubleshoots surgical equipment.
- Effectively delegates patient care to ancillary personnel.
- May precept student nurses and new hires.
