About The Position

The Perioperative Assistant functions as support personnel in the Operating Room. Duties may include transporting patients to and from the surgical department; cleaning rooms; picking up needed supplies from other departments and delivering them to the department; taking specimens and supplies to other departments; helping lift and position patients as needed; preparing equipment and supplies to aid in anesthesia care; assisting nurse anesthetists, anesthesiologists, and staff; preparing cases; and cleaning and maintaining scopes, performing scope repairs, and maintaining logs. Other duties may be assigned. Performs call obligations as assigned.

Requirements

High school graduate or GED equivalent.
No experience required.
Proof of American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS), current for a minimum of 90 days after hire date.
Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully, verbally and non-verbally, in a fast-paced and highly stressful environment.
Interpersonal skills and customer service skills required.

Responsibilities
