About The Position

Provides support services for perioperative patients, helping ensure safe and efficient patient-care flow. The role includes cleaning and disinfecting surgical surfaces, equipment, and positioning devices; setting up and storing equipment; replenishing linens and supplies; assisting with patient transportation and preparation; and transporting blood products and specimens. The Perioperative Assistant supports the Perioperative team as needed and must use critical thinking and decisive judgment while working with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED, or satisfactory completion of the UCHealth-administered basic competency test in lieu of a high school diploma or GED.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider certification. BLS must be through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, with a card in hand before the start date; the card must remain valid through 60 days of hire. Renewals must be issued by the American Heart Association.
Ability to use critical thinking and decisive judgment and work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
