About The Position

At Ideal Dental, a clinician-founded and clinician-led dental group established in 2008, the Periodontic Lead Dental Assistant supports patients and the dental team in delivering comprehensive, patient-centered care. The role leads the periodontal dental assistant team, supports the Periodontist during advanced procedures, and helps ensure periodontal workflows are efficient and patient care is consistent. The position offers training and resources to advance skills and career development in a dynamic, supportive environment.

Requirements

Active Registered Dental Assistant License.
Current CPR certification.
Minimum of 2 years of specific periodontic experience.
Ability to lead a team, delegate tasks, and motivate staff.
Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with the oral surgeon, staff, and patients.
Willingness to travel within assigned areas.

Responsibilities

Lead and guide the periodontal dental assistant team, ensuring clinical tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
Assist the Periodontist with advanced periodontal procedures.
Use specialized periodontal instruments and advanced technology.
Coordinate patient care and scheduling to maintain a smooth and timely periodontal workflow.
Mentor and train periodontic dental assistants, supporting compliance and high-quality care.
Manage and maintain periodontal supplies and equipment inventory.
Ensure accurate documentation and record keeping.
Foster a collaborative, professional team culture that encourages communication, accountability, and ongoing development.
Greet guests.
Sterilize instruments and set up trays.
Prepare treatment rooms.
Assist with conscious and IV sedation.
Perform X-rays.
Chart existing and recommended treatments.
Perform other duties as required to support the office and periodontal team.
