About The Position

Nebraska Medicine is seeking a talented Perinatal Sonographer to join their team at the Durham Outpatient Center in Omaha, NE. This role will focus on Ultrasound Technician duties for the Olson Center for Women’s Health, performing scans including Anatomy scans, High Risk, Fetal monitoring, and first-trimester screening. The sonographer will collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other hospital staff to deliver exceptional care. Requirements

  • Ability to competently manage patients/families of all age groups.
  • Completion of a Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program (CAAHEP) accredited program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, American Medical Association (AMA) approved school of ultrasonography, OR comparable work experience in the practice specialty of abdomen and OB/Gyn.
  • Proficient with computers/computer systems to include basic navigation and use of email applications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to deal with difficult or challenging customer interactions and escalate to management as appropriate.
  • Ability to obtain American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification within one year of hire or transfer date.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in neurosonology and vascular ultrasound.
  • Bachelor's of science degree.
  • Formal education in neurosonology and vascular ultrasound.
  • Current American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification.
  • Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) OR Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) certification.

Responsibilities

  • Perform quality diagnostic medical sonograms under supervision to ensure accurate and appropriate imaging information for use in diagnosis and treatment.
  • Effectively coordinate the required resources for diagnostic ultrasound service delivery.
  • Problem-solve and expedite communication with other health care providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Demonstrate active involvement in department operations and decision making by modeling effective work group processes and fiscal responsibility.
