About The Position

A sonographer uses ultrasound high-frequency sound waves to take images of the body's internal organs and tissues to assist doctors with diagnosing and monitoring a variety of conditions and diseases. A sonographer is also known as a diagnostic medical sonographer or an ultrasound technician. The role involves operating ultrasonic equipment to produce images of the body's organs and tissues for diagnostic purposes. Performs sonographic examinations to locate, evaluate and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data.

Requirements

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or related field
• Credentialed through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or ARRT in OB/GYN
• Minimum 1 year experience scanning OB-GYN ultrasound
• Current BLS certification required
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) with OB/GYN specialty required
• Minimum 2 years' experience scanning OB-GYN ultrasound
• Registry eligible through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or ARRT.
• Registry must be obtained within a obtained within 1 year after hire
• Graduation from a school of Diagnostic Medical Sonography; or high school diploma or GED and clinical ultrasound/vascular experience as approved by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in OB/Gyn.
• Current registration as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in Obstetrics and Gynecology (RDMS OB/GYN) granted by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in OB/Gyn and NT credential required and remain in good standing.
• Minimum of three years of experience required for the role.
• Current registration as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in Obstetrics and Gynecology (RDMS OB/GYN) granted by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in OB/Gyn and NT credential required and remain in good standing.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider.
• Minimum of two years of obstetrical and gyneological experience required
• Current registration as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in Obstetrics and Gynecology (RDMS OB/GYN) granted by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in OB/Gyn required and must remain in good standing.
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
