About The Position

We are seeking an experienced, versatile, and patient-focused Ultrasound Technologist/Sonographer to join our outpatient imaging team. The Sonographer will perform a variety of diagnostic ultrasound examinations while providing compassionate, professional patient care and working collaboratively with radiologists, physicians, and fellow imaging professionals. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited/certified Radiologic Technology or Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
  • Current ARRT certification and valid New York State license, as applicable.
  • Experience and demonstrated competency in a variety of ultrasound examinations, including abdomen, OB/GYN, breast, pediatrics, vascular, and small parts.
  • Thorough knowledge of ultrasound theory, techniques, and practices.
  • Proficiency in the operation of diagnostic ultrasound equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to make accurate clinical observations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Sit, stand, bend, reach, and move throughout the workday.
  • Perform repetitive movements associated with ultrasound scanning.
  • Demonstrate sufficient manual dexterity to operate ultrasound equipment and standard computer/office equipment.
  • Lift and/or move up to 20 pounds as required.
  • Possess adequate hearing and vision to perform essential job functions.

Nice To Haves

  • ARDMS certification/registry preferred.
  • Candidates who are not yet ARDMS registered may be considered based on education, clinical experience, and demonstrated competency.
  • Candidates hired without ARDMS registry will be expected to obtain appropriate ARDMS certification within one year of hire, with the opportunity for a contractual agreement outlining the requirements and support provided by the employer.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a variety of diagnostic ultrasound examinations, including: Abdomen, OB/GYN, Breast, Pediatrics, Vascular, Small parts
  • Perform Doppler/duplex examinations as appropriate.
  • Assist radiologists and physicians with ultrasound examinations and procedures.
  • Provide compassionate and professional patient care throughout the examination.
  • Obtain and review prior imaging and reports as needed.
  • Utilize EPIC/PACS systems to enter, retrieve, and maintain patient and imaging information.
  • Perform daily quality assurance activities and maintain appropriate documentation.
  • Ensure proper startup, operation, and calibration of ultrasound equipment.
  • Follow established imaging protocols and participate in reviewing and updating procedures.
  • Maintain appropriate department supplies and assist with inventory and requisition needs.
  • Maintain effective and courteous working relationships with patients, staff, physicians, and administration.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
