About The Position

We are currently seeking a Perfusionist incumbent to join our team at Southlake Health. Reporting to the Manager, Main OR, CVOR, Perfusionist, the successful candidate will be a key member of the team, supporting interprofessional collaboration across the continuum of care, contributing to excellence in patient outcomes, service delivery, and staff engagement. Requirements

  • Certified Perfusionist with the Canadian Society of Clinical Perfusion and the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion or eligibility for certification is required
  • Previous experience with membrane oxygenators, cardiac assist devices and hemoconcentration is required.
  • Contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of our clinical perfusion practice as well as an interest in research and the publication/presentation of related research is considered to be essential.
  • Ability to work in conjunction with Cardiac Surgeons and other members of the heath care team

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of 2-3 years experience is preferred (applicants with less experience may be considered)
  • Experience with the many facets of extracorporeal technology, ie. Cell salvaging and plasma sequestration, intra-aortic balloon pumping and ECMO is considered an asset.

  • Support interprofessional collaboration across the continuum of care, contributing to excellence in patient outcomes, service delivery, and staff engagement.
  • Work safely and promote health and safety in the workplace.
  • Adhere to the duties of workers, as stipulated in Section 28 of the OH&S Act, as well as all Southlake OH&S policies and procedures.
  • Perform all necessary bona fide duties for the position, as outlined in the position guide.
