About The Position

SpecialtyCare is seeking an Experienced Perfusionist to join their dynamic team in Richmond, VA, supporting Chippenham Hospital & Henrico Doctors' Hospital. SpecialtyCare perfusionists have a long-standing history of providing clinical care at these institutions. The team includes five surgeons, one Area Clinical Manager, and six Perfusionists. They perform all adult cardiac surgery procedures except transplants, and are involved with TAVR and hybrid procedures in partnership with cardiology and EP. The team also manages a growing VAD and ECMO program with dedicated ECMO specialists. Approximately 700 cases are performed annually. The company welcomes both experienced perfusionists and new graduates, offering training and mentorship, particularly with a float perfusionist at each hospital. Richmond is described as a vibrant city with outdoor activities, historical sites, a strong food scene, excellent schools, and convenient access to natural attractions and Washington, D.C. Requirements

  • Graduate of Accredited Perfusion training program.
  • Certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP) or meets other Company requirements as a perfusionist.
  • Ability to work on Call.
  • Must live within 30 minutes from the hospital.
  • High level of ethical, intellectual, professional and personal values.
  • Focused on clinical quality and delivering the absolute best results for patients.
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a high stress environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Proven self-starter who works well independently and as a part of the OR team.
