About The Position

Full-time Monday-Friday: 7:00a-3:30p Assists with the preparation, setup, and cleaning of perfusion equipment before, during and after procedures. Assists with the logistics, documentation, and tracking of equipment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Vocational or Technical training preferred.
  • 1-3 years related work experience required.
  • Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.
  • Ability to make decisions that are guided by general instructions and practices requiring some interpretation.
  • Ability to address problems that are varied, requiring analysis or interpretation of the situation using direct observation, knowledge and skills based on general precedents.
  • Ability to follow precedents and procedures. May set priorities and organize work within general guidelines. Seeks assistance when confronted with difficult and/or unpredictable situations. Work progress is monitored by supervisor/manager.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in written English with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to comprehend and converse in English to communicate effectively with medical center staff, patients, families and external customers.
  • Ability to demonstrate full working knowledge of standard concepts, practices, procedures and policies with the ability to use them in varied situations.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in small teams to improve the operations of immediate work group by offering ideas, identifying issues, and respecting team members.
  • Ability to provide a high level of customer service to patients, visitors, staff and external customers in a professional, service-oriented, respectful manner using skills in active listening and problem solving. Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with set up of perfusion equipment as directed.
  • Ensures Perfusion equipment is available and ready for use when/where needed.
  • Performs routine cleaning/disinfection and water changes for all heater-cooler devices and other equipment with required cleaning/setup protocols.
  • Documents equipment quality control checks, logs, and disinfection per policy.
  • Collects periodic surveillance water samples as instructed by Infection Control.
  • Reviews results and follow protocol for abnormal results.
  • Closely collaborates with Clinical Engineering and outside vendors to maintain equipment.
  • Works with materials management team to maintain Par levels of supplies, monitors integrity of products including expiration dates, participates in the evaluation of new products and supplies as needed.
