About The Position

Full-time Monday-Friday: 7:00a-3:30p Assists with the preparation, setup, and cleaning of perfusion equipment before, during and after procedures. Assists with the logistics, documentation, and tracking of equipment.

Requirements

High School diploma or GED required.
Vocational or Technical training preferred.
1-3 years related work experience required.
Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.
Ability to make decisions that are guided by general instructions and practices requiring some interpretation.
Ability to address problems that are varied, requiring analysis or interpretation of the situation using direct observation, knowledge and skills based on general precedents.
Ability to follow precedents and procedures. May set priorities and organize work within general guidelines. Seeks assistance when confronted with difficult and/or unpredictable situations. Work progress is monitored by supervisor/manager.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in written English with internal and external customers.
Ability to comprehend and converse in English to communicate effectively with medical center staff, patients, families and external customers.
Ability to demonstrate full working knowledge of standard concepts, practices, procedures and policies with the ability to use them in varied situations.
Ability to work collaboratively in small teams to improve the operations of immediate work group by offering ideas, identifying issues, and respecting team members.
Ability to provide a high level of customer service to patients, visitors, staff and external customers in a professional, service-oriented, respectful manner using skills in active listening and problem solving. Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.

Responsibilities

Assists with set up of perfusion equipment as directed.
Ensures Perfusion equipment is available and ready for use when/where needed.
Performs routine cleaning/disinfection and water changes for all heater-cooler devices and other equipment with required cleaning/setup protocols.
Documents equipment quality control checks, logs, and disinfection per policy.
Collects periodic surveillance water samples as instructed by Infection Control.
Reviews results and follow protocol for abnormal results.
Closely collaborates with Clinical Engineering and outside vendors to maintain equipment.
Works with materials management team to maintain Par levels of supplies, monitors integrity of products including expiration dates, participates in the evaluation of new products and supplies as needed.
