About The Position
The Perfusionist maintains life-support functions during cardiopulmonary bypass for those patients undergoing cardiac surgery. The Perfusionist provides additional cardiac support for patients undergoing radiologic, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures related to cardiac disease. The Perfusionist assists in preservation of hemodynamic stability through blood conservation/salvage/infusion for those patients undergoing both scheduled and emergency surgery for cardiac as well as other surgical specialties.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited perfusion program
- Current American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion certification or eligible
- Must obtain American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion certification within 1 year of hire date if not currently certified
- Current AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent
Nice To Haves
- Academic Health Care experience
- Bachelors Degree in a Health Science field (Biology, Chemistry, Anatomy, Physiology) or closely related field
Responsibilities

- Must be able to choose and assemble proper equipment for all surgical cases requiring a perfusionist.
- Organizes and plans work with specific outcomes and demonstrated use of sound clinical judgment and resources.
