The Performance Test Engineer provides performance testing capabilities for complex applications and works with stakeholders daily to design test cases, create performance test scripts, and execute performance scenarios. Working under the direction of and with a Performance Lead, the engineer writes technical performance test plans and is responsible for end-to-end technical delivery of projects, platforms, or major technology initiatives, ensuring complex systems are delivered reliably, securely, and on time. The role develops data-driven load test scripts using the Citrix Protocol; uses Micro Focus LoadRunner or JMeter to design and execute load and performance tests; leads data creation activities; and designs and executes load, failover, aging, and other types of tests. The engineer works with application development, architecture, infrastructure, and production support groups on defect triage and production planning, and reports findings through defined processes. The position also calls for performance engineering strategy beyond test execution, using AI to automate repetitive analysis and accelerate problem diagnosis, proactively identifying production risks, and independently leading complex performance investigations while influencing architecture and design decisions.
