About The Position

The Performance Improvement Director is assigned to the performance improvement program to assist senior leadership, medical staff, and the Performance Improvement Committee in designing, planning, implementing and overseeing a comprehensive and integrated performance improvement program. The role will oversee performance improvement communication, data collection / analysis, chart abstraction, and business or technical writing. Additionally, the Performance Improvement Director has broad responsibility to support the hospital’s risk management program, which aims to protect the hospital's assets from loss. The Performance Improvement Director will oversee the coordination of loss control efforts and advise the hospital’s Risk Manager on potential sources of loss and make recommendations to minimize or eliminate exposure. The Performance Improvement Director will strive to ensure that the hospital complies with the guidelines and standards of state and federal regulatory bodies, including the Oregon Health Authority, the Joint Commission, and CMS. This position will track quality measures of multiple performance improvement projects and risk management efforts by developing systems to effectively communicate information to the senior leadership team and highlight opportunities for improvement and risk reduction. The person in this position will be able to stay solution-focused on measurable improvement and be able to partner with hospital leadership and staff on ways to achieve improvements and to reduce risk. Cedar Hills Hospital is a 98-bed behavioral health hospital and Outpatient Services program in Portland, Oregon dedicated to healing patients’ minds and bodies. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in nursing, social work, or related field.
  • One(1) to three (3) years of experience in a healthcare or behavioral health setting involving quality improvement.
  • Computer skills involving knowledge of Excel spreadsheets, MS Word, PowerPoint, and business / technical writing skills.
  • Knowledgeable regarding Joint Commission accreditation standards.
  • Experience interpreting State and Federal standards related to hospital operations.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred.
