About The Position

The Performance Excellence Program Lead supports the daily operations of the Regulatory and Performance Excellence teams. This role partners with local and system-wide multidisciplinary groups on complex regulatory readiness efforts, process improvement projects, program development, and operational enhancement initiatives. The incumbent plays a vital role in advancing organizational compliance, performance excellence, and patient and family experience. The Lead also supports strategic plan activities and ensures project execution that delivers and sustains measurable results across the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, business, or health-care related field
  • Three (3) years project management experience
  • Three (3) years experience overseeing regulatory compliance initiatives
  • Ability to use MS word, excel, access and other software to collect, analyze, and present

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in industrial engineering, business, or health-care related field
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or other relevant project management certification
  • Clinical experience

Responsibilities

  • Leads regulatory readiness activities, including survey preparation, internal audits, compliance reviews, corrective action planning, and ongoing monitoring of regulatory standards.
  • Provides day-to-day oversight for the Regulatory Compliance Program Managers and Performance Excellence Project Managers to enhance efficiencies in organizational workflows.
  • Serves as a regulatory subject matter expert (SME) for WVUH, providing guidance to departments regarding state, federal, and accreditation requirements.
  • Facilitates and manages process improvement, workflow optimization, and organizational enhancement projects using performance excellence methodologies.
  • Contributes to monitoring and executing the strategic plan throughout the year, ensuring alignment with hospital and system priorities.
  • Partners with regulatory, quality, and operational teams to drive continuous improvement and sustain performance outcomes.
  • Supports development and implementation of policies, programs, and processes that enhance regulatory compliance and organizational performance.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with government officials, regulatory agencies, and internal teams.
  • Manage multiple projects throughout their life cycle.
  • Provides technical support to performance improvement teams on the use of lean tools, coaching, and data analysis.
  • Collects, analyzes, and interprets data to develop reports, dashboards, and presentations that inform decision-making and communicate project impact.
  • Maintains documentation, project tracking tools, and performance metrics to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Provides coaching, training, and support to departments on regulatory readiness and process improvement methodologies.
  • Collaborates with clinical, operational, and administrative leaders to ensure compliance with state, federal, and accreditation requirements and to advance a culture of continuous readiness.
  • Provides coaching, training, and support to Performance Excellence Project Managers on their projects to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Fosters collaboration internally among teams and externally with stakeholders.
