About The Position

The Performance & Capability Lead plays a pivotal role in strengthening the operational effectiveness and long‑term capability of the ST&S RPTA Operations organization. Working collaboratively across regions and in close partnership with key stakeholders, the Performance & Capability Lead is responsible for building, enhancing, and sustaining the skills, competencies, and performance standards required to deliver consistent, high‑quality outcomes. Accountabilities include driving capability development, supporting operational excellence, maintaining silent running through performance insights and interventions, and proactively identifying opportunities to strengthen both current operations and future readiness. The role champions a culture of learning, high performance, and strategic collaboration across the ST&S RPT network.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a role model for compliance and rigorous operational discipline, promoting strong risk management behaviors and high‑quality execution across the team.
  • Leverage and advocate for modern learning technologies to deliver timely, effective training aligned with bp’s safety, compliance, and operational standards.
  • Provide reliable operational and planning support to the Head of Operations and the Operations Leadership Team, ensuring smooth coordination of priorities and deliverables.
  • Lead the coordination of Operations’ contributions to audits, maintaining oversight of action items and ensuring timely follow‑through.
  • Participate actively in the global Operations Performance & Capability network, sharing insights and adopting leading practices.
  • Coordinate Operations’ involvement in early‑career programs—including recruiting, internships, and development programs—supporting a healthy pipeline of future talent.
  • Support planning and logistics for Operations LT and XLT engagements, ensuring high‑quality execution and alignment to strategic objectives.
  • Maintain and steward internal Operations systems that support risk identification, mitigation, and operational continuity.
  • Deliver Operations flagship courses, ensuring learning outcomes are clear, engaging, and aligned with business needs.
  • Work closely with the P&C team to support people‑related processes, including workforce planning, onboarding, and development activities.
  • Manage and refine the regional learning and development offering to address capability needs and support organizational priorities.
