You will have a solid understanding of the fundamentals of engine performance, as well as develop an understanding of the engine at the systems level to effectively execute your tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with a minimum of 4 years’ experience, or master’s degree with a minimum of 2 years’ experience.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient at handling several analytical tasks concurrently.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate well in and at times lead Integrated Product Teams.

Nice To Haves

  • Background or demonstrated expertise in aircraft engine performance and aerodynamics, sizing, cycle analysis and/or preliminary design analysis is an asset.
  • Knowledge of computer programming using FORTRAN, Visual Basic, and/or C++ is an asset.
  • Willingness to work outside of regular hours to support test programs involving multiple shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Perform propulsion cycle analysis and make aircraft engine performance predictions by creating computer simulations to achieve overall system level requirements.
  • Prepare steady state and transient engine performance data in support of engine control, stress and aerodynamic studies.
  • Specify requirements, evaluate engine test data and document results in support of development and flight test program, production and product entry into service.
  • Understand system level issues related to aircraft engine design, performance, operability and operation.
  • Assess feasibility of new concepts and support preliminary design studies.
