This role performs all types of Echocardiography testing, assists physicians in delivering safe, age-appropriate patient care, and works collaboratively with RNs and MDs to promote wellness and optimize patient outcomes. Requirements

  • Technical Diploma, Graduate of an accredited cardiac ultrasound program Required.
  • Appropriate credential in echocardiography, from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) OR Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) OR Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) OR Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) OR Registered Cardiac Congenial Sonographer (RCCS), Required.
  • Current and valid BLS certification - Inpatient facility only Required.
  • Strong communication (both written and oral), detail orientation, customer service, multitasking skills Required.
  • Basic computer skills Required.
  • Experience performing echocardiography with various manufacturer echo machines used in the Echo Lab Required.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-2 years Experience performing echocardiograms Preferred.
  • Current and valid BLS certification - Outpatient facility only Preferred.
  • Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Performs transthoracic echocardiograms, stress echo (both exercise and pharmacological) per department and management guidelines.
  • Captures digital cardiac images and performs measurements correctly, recognizing pathology and/or customizing exam requiring contrast agent accordingly due to lack of image quality.
  • Responds to stat calls accordingly.
  • Reports life threatening pathology to attending Physician or Fellow.
  • Responsible for the preparation of echocardiogram procedure including but not limited to equipment, supplies, instruments and appropriate paperwork.
  • Participates in orientation of new employees as needed.
  • Responsible for daily quality control of equipment and escalates issues as needed.
