Requirements

  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through CCI, or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through ARDMS required
  • New Hampshire locations: Medical Imaging License through the State of New Hampshire Office of Professional Licensure & Certification (OPLC) required upon hire

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree in Sonography preferred
  • IV placement knowledge preferred but will provide training.
  • Previous experience as a Cardiac Sonographer preferred

Responsibilities

  • Independently perform high-quality transthoracic echocardiograms (TTEs), TEE Stress Echo, portable cardiac ultrasound studies, and contrast/bubble studies while acquiring diagnostic images for physician interpretation.
  • Review patient histories, prior imaging, and clinical information to ensure appropriate exam protocols and deliver safe, patient-centered care. IV placement knowledge preferred but will provide training.
  • Prepare accurate preliminary reports and communicate relevant findings to interpreting physicians in a timely manner.
  • Prepare equipment and exam rooms, adhere to infection prevention and patient safety protocols, and comply with all privacy, departmental, and hospital policies.
  • Utilize proper positioning and ergonomic scanning techniques to ensure patient comfort, safety, and a positive experience for patients and families.
  • Participate in quality improvement and accreditation activities, assist with scheduling and workflow coordination, and meet established productivity and quality standards and other activities as required by department.
  • Aid in the participation of our students precepting as deemed appropriate.
