This Per Diem Cardiac Sonographer position supports our practice on-site, picking up a minimum of 2, 8-hour shifts a month. We are flexible with the shift times based on the candidate’s availability! The practice offers outpatient general cardiology services, echocardiography, cardiac stress testing and nuclear cardiac imaging, supporting the Cape Cod community, as well as Martha’s Vineyard and Nantucket Cottage Hospital.

Requirements

American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through CCI, or Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through ARDMS required
Medical Imaging License through the State of New Hampshire Office of Professional Licensure & Certification (OPLC) required upon hire

Nice To Haves

Associate's degree in Sonography preferred
Previous experience as a Cardiac Sonographer preferred

Responsibilities

Independently perform high-quality transthoracic echocardiograms (TTEs), portable cardiac ultrasound studies, and contrast/bubble studies while acquiring diagnostic images for physician interpretation.
Review patient histories, prior imaging, and clinical information to ensure appropriate exam protocols and deliver safe, patient-centered care.
Prepare accurate preliminary reports and communicate relevant findings to interpreting physicians in a timely manner.
Prepare equipment and exam rooms, adhere to infection prevention and patient safety protocols, and comply with all privacy, departmental, and hospital policies.
Utilize proper positioning and ergonomic scanning techniques to ensure patient comfort, safety, and a positive experience for patients and families.
Participate in quality improvement and accreditation activities, assist with scheduling and workflow coordination, and meet established productivity and quality standards.
