About The Position

The People Team Associate will serve as a visible, trusted resource for employees and managers, supporting onboarding, employee experience, and day-to-day People operations. This role is ideal for someone with 1–2 years of experience in HR, People operations, office coordination, or a similar people-facing role who is ready to take on more ownership, manage multiple priorities, and build strong relationships across the New York team. In this role, you will help ensure that core People processes run smoothly and that employees receive timely, thoughtful support. You’ll partner closely with the broader People team, as well as with IT, Payroll, Benefits, and hiring managers, to coordinate logistics, maintain accurate records, and resolve routine issues. This is a highly visible role with regular interaction across the New York office, and we’re looking for someone who is approachable, organized, and comfortable being a front-line point of contact for employees. This is a hybrid role, with an expectation of being in the New York office at least 1–2 days per week.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of experience in HR, People operations, office coordination, employee support, or a related role
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities at once
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with employees and managers
  • Customer-service mindset with a proactive, approachable, and collaborative style
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Teams

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate end-to-end onboarding logistics for new hires, including IT tickets, system access, welcome communications, and onboarding schedules
  • Partner with hiring managers to build individualized first-week and first-month onboarding plans
  • Lead new hire orientation sessions and help create a welcoming, well-organized experience
  • Schedule and support I-9 appointments and E-Verify steps as needed
  • Add new hires to Workday and confirm that setup is complete before their start date
  • Support offboarding processes by tracking equipment return, submitting deactivation tickets, and ensuring timely completion of exit-related tasks
  • Conduct select exit interviews for junior employees and share themes with the People team as appropriate
  • Manage recurring check-in reminders for 45-day, 90-day, and 6-month milestones and track completion with managers
  • Draft and send service anniversary communications and maintain the anniversary tracker
  • Coordinate logistics for employees returning from leave, including calendar setup, manager communication, and IT access reinstatement
  • Support employment verification requests by preparing letters, completing forms, and coordinating with payroll or HR partners as needed
  • Triage routine employee questions and escalate more complex issues to the appropriate People team member
  • Serve as a front-line contact for the People inbox by responding to employee questions, routing requests, and sharing resources
  • Maintain People trackers and shared files related to onboarding, employee lifecycle milestones, leave, POs, and surveys
  • Update and maintain People content on the intranet, ensuring information is accurate and current
  • Support employee engagement and networking initiatives, such as Speed Connections or similar programs, by coordinating scheduling, invitations, attendance, and follow-up
  • Identify process gaps or recurring issues and partner with the People team to improve workflows and employee experience
  • Coordinate logistics for L&D sessions, including calendar invites, room or virtual setup, materials, and communications
  • Send post-session surveys and track participation and response rates
  • Maintain L&D pages and resources on the intranet
  • Assist with PO submission, invoice tracking, and basic vendor coordination for learning programs
  • Submit, monitor, and escalate IT tickets for new hires, employee changes, and departures
  • Partner with Payroll, Benefits, and Operations to ensure timely completion of routine processes
  • Keep stakeholders updated on timelines and outstanding action items
  • Support internal coordination across teams to ensure a smooth employee experience
  • Schedule meetings, interviews, and recurring People team touchpoints
  • Prepare trackers and communications with attention to detail and confidentiality
  • Support ad hoc People projects and office initiatives as needed
