About The Position

Passionfroot is seeking its first People & Talent hire to own both the talent acquisition machine and the people foundation. This role is unique because the company has a compelling story to tell potential hires, the roles to fill are in a new market category, and the individual will have the opportunity to design the people function from scratch with direct input into company culture and team quality. The role offers direct access to founders and the Head of Operations, with fast decision-making and no bureaucracy.

Requirements

  • Strong talent acquisition background in high-growth startups
  • Experience scaling a company through a similar stage of growth
  • Comfortable hiring across multiple geographies, ideally US and Europe; Brazil exposure is a plus
  • Strong judgment on talent quality, especially in New York go-to-market hiring
  • Able to distinguish polish from substance in highly competitive markets
  • Hands-on operator who is happy building from scratch
  • Strong communicator who can represent the company credibly and compellingly
  • High ownership and ability to operate with speed
  • Brings genuine people operations experience - onboarding, payroll, leveling, cross-border employment, and culture-building are not afterthoughts

Responsibilities

  • Build and run the hiring function end-to-end
  • Partner with founders and hiring managers on hiring plans and role prioritization
  • Drive hiring across key functions including go-to-market, growth, and product/engineering
  • Build sourcing, interview, and assessment processes that are rigorous and efficient
  • Create a strong candidate experience from first touch through day one
  • Help train the team to become strong interviewers and talent spotters
  • Build the foundations of the recruiting machine so hiring becomes scalable and repeatable
  • Own onboarding - design a world-class experience for every new hire across all geographies
  • Manage payroll and partner on compensation processes, including cross-border employment setup and compliance
  • Drive culture - own team rituals, values reinforcement, and employee engagement initiatives as we scale
  • Build the people foundations (leveling, policies, handbook, tooling) that a growing multi-geo team needs
