About The Position

Alamo’s People Systems Specialist supports the day‑to‑day functionality of Workday by assisting with configuration, testing, documentation, reporting, and data integrity activities. This role partners with the People team and business users to maintain smooth system operations and enhance the teammate experience.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of Workday support or HRIS experience
  • Experience in business process configuration, reporting, system configuration, and a solid understanding of cross-platform impacts into the Payroll module preferred
  • Experience working with internal and external controls as it relates to HRIS and general People (HR) functions
  • SOX and/or finance controls experience a plus
  • Basic understanding of various People (HR) functions
  • SHRM-CP, CPP, and/or FPC certification a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Powerpoint or their Google Suite equivalents

Responsibilities

  • Uphold standards of behavior as defined by the company Core Values, Code of Conduct and Operational Guidelines
  • Support Workday configuration changes, and development under guidance from senior team members
  • Provide Tier 1–2 support by troubleshooting issues, validating data, and escalating when needed
  • Research, and test new functionality and features within Workday including system releases, enhancements, and fixes
  • Develop, and execute QA and user acceptance testing (UAT) scripts
  • Ensure that system controls and processes meet all internal and external audit requirements
  • Create, and maintain detailed documentation of business processes and system functionality, including workflow, program functions, and steps required to execute system transactions/processes
  • Build and maintain Workday dashboards, reports, and analytics to drive business insights and sound decisions
  • Partner with the People team and business stakeholders to gather requirements and support process improvements
  • Be a leader of change management and advocate for process improvement
  • Maintain an understanding of the product and the underlying, business processes in order to predict downstream implications of issues and changes, and allow for effective troubleshooting
