About The Position

The People Services & Relations Generalist will support the Non-Union team at both Stanislaus Food Products and Corto Olive with their needs, displaying excellent problem-solving and communication skills daily. This role involves regular interaction with the team to provide superior customer service. The company, Stanislaus Food Products, is a nationally recognized, family-owned company known for crafting the finest Italian-style tomatoes and sauces for top-quality Italian restaurants and pizzerias. This is a full-time, exempt position located on-site at their Modesto administrative office. Occasional travel to Corto Olive in Stockton, CA is expected, and during the Corto Harvest season, the role will require at least 3 days on-site weekly. The position is primarily responsible for facilitating engagement, executing campus recruitment, managing employee records, supporting people services functions, and providing administrative support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or SHRMCP/PHR Certification and equivalent experience. Will accept applicant willing to get certified within year 1.
  • At least three years experience in progressive People Operation (Human Resources) role and Manufacturing environment.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, in reading, written and verbal form.
  • Proficient in HRIS, Office Suite and Canva.
  • Demonstrated understanding of California and Federal laws for people recruitment, leave of absences, and benefits.
  • Unrestricted visual and audio abilities are required for the safety of all employees.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • At least 5 years experience in similar role.
  • At least 5 years experience in Manufacturing.
  • At least one year’s experience using UKG.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and execute a diverse range of activities that cater to the needs and interests of the Stanislaus team to create opportunities for social interaction, collaboration, and active participation.
  • Participate in Corto Engagement efforts and provide support as the committee designates.
  • Execute and lead Campus Recruitment efforts as well as facilitate career fair opportunities for both SFP and Corto Olive, including internal talent efforts for Interns and Trainee programs.
  • Execute and maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in both digital and physical formats following CA and Federal regulations for all people processes from hiring to terminations, regarding all Non-Union team members, including updating and maintaining HRIS with employee information.
  • Support the People Services & Relations Manager in Employee Record Projects such as auditing, scanning, and filing.
  • Support the People Services Administrator in coordination for benefits enrollment and answering benefits questions for both SFP and Corto.
  • Support Administrator coordination of the annual Wellness Event.
  • Own and execute the full recruitment process for hourly and individual contributor roles, as well as other roles assigned by the Manager, including scheduling interviews, preparing job postings and offer materials, and completing required pre-employment activities.
  • Lead hiring efforts for the Seasonal, Non-Union team by partnering with each department head to understand staffing needs, filling roles within established seasonal hiring metrics, and ensuring all SFP and Corto Olive recruiting and onboarding processes are followed.
  • Stay up to date on relevant employment laws and regulations.
  • Serve as Onboarding backup to Administrator for both SFP and Corto.
  • Support Union Employee Services team and processes, as needed and assigned.
  • Answer employee inquiries and provide People Operations related information.
  • Prepare reports and presentations.
  • Prepare for meetings to include lunch orders, etc.
  • Assist with other People Operations projects and initiatives as assigned.
  • Serve as a liaison between SFP and Corto team members and the People Operations department.
  • Serve as a liaison with key stakeholders, including executive-level partners, and provide guidance and recommendations as needed throughout the recruitment process.
  • Create and maintain collaborative relationships with all management including the Cannery and Distribution Center.
