People Ops & Culture Associate

InspirenNew York, NY
$90,000 - $110,000Onsite

About The Position

The People Ops & Culture Associate is the operational backbone of Inspiren's People function — the person who makes everything run. This role is deeply tactical by design: you'll own the day-to-day systems and processes that power our employee experience, from HRIS administration and onboarding workflows to benefits and compliance. You’ll also own the operational heartbeat of our NYC office — from vendor relationships and facilities to weekly team lunches, events, onsites, swag, and the moments that make the culture feel intentional (birthdays, work anniversaries, celebrations worth doing right). What makes this role genuinely exciting is the expectation to not just execute the work, but to constantly look for ways to make it better. Whether that's spotting a manual workflow that could be automated, identifying a process gap before it becomes a problem, or building scalable infrastructure that will outlast your first year — this role rewards initiative and operational creativity. This is an in-person role 4 days a week, with 1 floating day (Monday or Friday).

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of HR/People Ops experience in a startup or high-growth environment
  • Hands-on HRIS experience — system administration, data integrity, and reporting (e.g., Rippling, BambooHR, Workday)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience administering health benefits, 401(k), or managing open enrollment
  • Familiarity with federal and state employment law compliance and recordkeeping
  • Experience identifying and implementing process improvements or workflow automation
  • Experience coordinating office operations, team events, or employee engagement programs — vendor management, logistics, gifting, or onsite coordination

Responsibilities

  • Own data integrity, system configuration, and reporting across our HRIS. Lead the upcoming HRIS implementation (May/June) and ensure clean, accurate records going forward.
  • Run new hire onboarding end-to-end — documentation, systems access, and equipment — ensuring every hire is fully set up within 5 business days. Own the offboarding process with the same rigor.
  • Administer health benefits, 401(k), and leave programs. Manage enrollment processes, answer employee questions, and maintain accurate tracking.
  • Maintain the compliance calendar, manage personnel files and employment records, and keep us ahead of federal and state regulatory requirements.
  • Run bi-weekly contractor hour processing and support payroll workflows as needed.
  • Coordinate weekly team lunches, events, and onsites. Manage swag inventory and ordering. Own the employee milestone calendar — birthdays, work anniversaries, and other moments worth celebrating — and build out a lightweight gifting system. Serve as the point of contact for office vendors, facilities, and building management.
  • Identify manual or repetitive workflows that could be automated or streamlined — and take initiative to improve them. We expect this, not just appreciate it.
  • Support performance cycle administration, including 30/60/90 audits, Grow track management, and Lattice data hygiene.
  • Keep the People Ops Notion workspace current, accurate, and useful. Build and maintain FAQs and process documentation as the team scales.
