About The Position

The People Operations team at LangChain is responsible for building the foundational infrastructure across recruiting, global rewards, performance, and AI upskilling to empower the team to achieve its mission. This role serves as the West Coast presence for the globally distributed People Operations team, acting as the anchor for People Ops during US hours. It is a logistics, compliance, and hospitality role focused on ensuring a positive employee experience, particularly during the onboarding process. The role offers an opportunity to influence and help set up the infrastructure for scaling people operations in a fast-paced, high-growth tech environment. The position requires an in-office presence in San Francisco, CA, 5 days per week.

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of experience in people operations, HR coordination, or onboarding at a high-growth tech company.
  • Hands-on HRIS experience, with Rippling preferred.
  • Working knowledge of I-9 and employment eligibility verification, including retention and audit requirements.
  • Processes are documented, current, and usable by others.
  • Experience using tools to increase leverage and a natural inclination towards automation.
  • Ability to handle compensation, immigration, and personal data with discretion.
  • Comfort working on a globally distributed team in a fast-paced, build environment.
  • Exemplifies company operating principles.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience standing up or rebuilding an onboarding program, not just running an existing one.
  • Immigration or visa coordination experience (H-1B, PERM, TN, or equivalent).
  • Global onboarding exposure.
  • Experience with LangSmith, Claude, or similar tools.

Responsibilities

  • Own onboarding end-to-end, including pre-boarding tasks such as documentation, account setup, background checks, and data handoffs to IT, Payroll, and Workplace.
  • Run cohort day, facilitating twice-monthly in-person onboarding sessions in SF, covering compliance and employee experience.
  • Drive the first 90 days support structure, managing the system for 45/90 day check-ins, the buddy program, and onboarding surveys, including follow-up actions.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions during US hours, resolving issues or routing them appropriately, and contributing to the knowledge base.
  • Build and maintain onboarding Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), address parity gaps between in-office and remote onboarding, and develop distinct paths for rehires and international hires.
  • Automate repetitive tasks using AI, such as status chasing, packet assembly, provisioning checklists, and survey synthesis, and analyze ticket volume to identify areas for improvement.
