About The Position

Harness is seeking a People Operations Generalist to join their Global People Operations team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a startup environment, is hands-on, curious, and collaborative. The position is based in the U.S., with a preference for candidates in the Bay Area. The Generalist will be responsible for HRIS updates, U.S. compliance, immigration, and supporting the People Business Partner team, with a primary focus on the Americas. This role will collaborate with other G&A teams to provide operational, compliance, and administrative support to the business. The position reports to the Senior Manager, People Operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • At least 3+ years of HR experience
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. federal, state, and local employment laws and industry best practices
  • Experience supporting a global workforce
  • Hands-on experience maintaining an HRIS system, including data entry, access management, reporting, and managing workflows
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple, and sometimes conflicting, priorities
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on data accuracy and integrity
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
  • Proven ability to handle highly confidential data with professionalism and discretion

Responsibilities

  • Onboarding & Employee Lifecycle: Partner with Talent Acquisition and People Operations for new hire alignment, complete I-9 verifications and process E-Verify, stay current on new hire pipelines for a seamless onboarding experience, and own H-1B and visa transfers for U.S. new hires.
  • Offboarding: Coordinate offboarding for the Americas with the PBP team, maintain up-to-date U.S. termination documentation across all states, and complete/manage involuntary offboarding documents under the direction of Legal and PBP teams.
  • HRIS & Data Management: Manage people data and maintain data integrity in the HRIS (HiBob) in partnership with the team.
  • Immigration & Global Mobility: Manage day-to-day immigration cases, handle global mobility cases end-to-end including international transfers, and coordinate with external immigration counsel on visa requests and processing.
  • Compliance & Operations: Ensure legal compliance with U.S. federal, state, and local employment law with the Senior Manager, provide People Operations support via the ticketing system, collaborate on workflow improvements and procedure documentation, identify and implement process improvements for efficiency and scale, and operate in an organized manner managing multiple priorities proactively.
