About The Position

CookUnity is seeking an HR Business Partner to offer both strategic and operational HR support across its facilities. This role involves partnering closely with business leaders to cultivate an engaging, inclusive, and high-performing work environment for a growing workforce. The HR Business Partner will specifically support the Operations organization, including Culinary, Food Safety, Fulfillment, Marketplace, and Logistics, serving both exempt employees and a large multi-site hourly population. Key responsibilities include driving talent management, organizational effectiveness, workforce planning, employee relations, and leadership development. The position is based in Los Angeles with a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite) and requires travel to the Seattle facility as needed, while primarily supporting remote teams across multiple markets.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of HR Generalist or HR Business Partner experience in a fast-paced environment (manufacturing, production, warehouse, or logistics preferred).
  • Strong employee relations experience, including performance management, investigations, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
  • Experience supporting large hourly and frontline employee populations.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws.
  • Experience working with HRIS platforms such as Rippling, Workday, or ADP.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to build trusted relationships and influence leaders at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary HR Business Partner for Operations leadership.
  • Coach and advise managers on performance management, organizational design, employee development, and leadership effectiveness.
  • Partner with business leaders on workforce planning, succession planning, and talent development initiatives.
  • Use data and business insights to recommend people strategies that support organizational goals.
  • Provide guidance and support on employee relations matters, including performance management, investigations, disciplinary actions, and terminations.
  • Partner with leaders to foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace culture.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
  • Identify trends and recommend proactive solutions to improve employee engagement and reduce risk.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition, Payroll, Benefits, and Legal to support the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, promotions, transfers, leaves of absence, relocations, and immigration.
  • Conduct exit interviews, analyze turnover trends, and recommend retention strategies.
  • Support organizational change initiatives and drive employee engagement efforts.
  • Prepare and manage employment documentation, including offer letters, compensation changes, promotions, and wage notices.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records and HR documentation.
  • Support HR processes and systems while ensuring data integrity and compliance.
