About The Position

This dynamic position acts as a champion for both our candidates and our internal teams. The People & Culture Talent Specialist will support crucial recruitment and talent-related initiatives across Lawrence Hall. Partnering closely with department leadership and hiring teams, you will build robust candidate pipelines, refine hiring processes, and leverage workforce analytics to champion employee engagement and retention. From driving creative sourcing strategies for specialized roles to designing 30/60/90-day onboarding goals, this role is key to fostering healing and growth through empowerment, respect, safety, and teamwork.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree + minimum 2 years of experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, or HR coordination.
  • Strong interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills; ability to manage high-volume pipelines and influence leadership.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication, high attention to detail, and a focus on data accuracy.
  • Valid Illinois Driver's License, access to a personal vehicle, and proof of insurance for localized travel across Lawrence Hall sites.
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check, driver clearance, and drug screening.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience recruiting in nonprofit, behavioral health, social services, healthcare, or education.
  • Familiarity with Paycom, ApplicantPool, LinkedIn Recruiter, DocuSign, or workflow automation tools (e.g., Power Automate).
  • Experience tracking workforce analytics (turnover, vacancies) and a basic understanding of trauma-informed care.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with managers to assess staffing needs, establish timelines, and refine job descriptions and interview resources.
  • Build diverse candidate pools using job boards, LinkedIn, Indeed, networking, and creative, nontraditional sourcing for hard-to-fill roles.
  • Provide interview guidance, assessment resources, and training to hiring managers to ensure consistent, fair hiring practices.
  • Represent Lawrence Hall at job fairs and community events; partner with Marketing on social media recruitment campaigns.
  • Manage offer letters and compensation documentation while maintaining accurate candidate data and metrics within the HRIS/ATS.
  • Track and analyze HR metrics (turnover, vacancy rates, recruitment speed) to identify areas for process improvement.
  • Partner with leadership to design structured 30, 60, and 90-day onboarding goals that boost new hire engagement and retention.
  • Assist in coordinating and growing the Lawrence Hall internship program and community workforce partnerships.
  • Develop and maintain recruitment templates, workflows, and trackers to streamline talent processes.
  • Leverage technology and automation tools (like Power Automate) to increase operational speed and efficiency.
  • Prepare data-driven workforce reports for leadership while ensuring alignment with EEO, ADA, and confidentiality compliance.
