About The Position

Scotia Harvest is seeking a People & Culture Advisor to serve as the on-site HR presence at our Seabrook facility. This role is ideal for an HR professional who enjoys working closely with employees and leaders, building relationships, solving problems, and helping create a positive workplace culture in a fast-paced operational environment. As a key member of the People & Culture team, you'll provide hands-on support to employees and managers, coach leaders through people-related challenges, support recruitment and onboarding activities, and help ensure HR processes are carried out consistently and effectively. You'll work closely with operations leaders while partnering with the broader People & Culture team across the Mersey Group.

Requirements

• Post-secondary education in Human Resources, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Minimum two years of HR experience, or a combination of related education and experience.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to navigate sensitive situations with professionalism, empathy, and discretion.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practices.
• Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a manufacturing, processing, or operational environment is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for employees and managers on day-to-day HR matters.
• Provide guidance on employee relations, attendance, performance management, and workplace concerns.
• Coach and support supervisors through difficult conversations and people-related decisions.
• Maintain accurate HR documentation and employee records.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, and benefits administration.
• Maintain employee information within BambooHR and assist with HR reporting.
• Help ensure compliance with company policies, employment legislation, and training requirements.
• Partner with leaders across the business to support a respectful, positive, and productive workplace culture.
