About The Position

This role is part of an 18-month rotational program within Notion's People Analytics & Operations team. The program is designed to provide hands-on experience across people operations, people analytics, and compensation/benefits. Rotations involve real work with real ownership, including building dashboards, writing SQL for headcount models, prototyping AI-assisted workflows, managing employee lifecycle transactions in Workday, coordinating onboarding and offboarding, and resolving employee requests. The program aims to develop the next generation of the People team from within, with participants focusing on a specific area at the end of the 18 months. The role requires a high degree of agency, a passion for leveraging AI, and a strong proficiency in Notion itself. In-person collaboration is essential, with required office days on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

Requirements

  • SQL is your native language; you can write queries that join, filter, aggregate, and transform data.
  • Ability to debug SQL queries and understand why answers are incorrect.
  • Quantitatively sharp; think in numbers.
  • Studied business, economics, statistics, or mathematics.
  • Developing skills in analytical storytelling: connecting numbers to insights to decisions.
  • High agency and high urgency; you don't wait for perfect instructions and fix problems proactively.
  • AI-fluent; you use AI tools daily as a multiplier and know when to use them effectively.
  • Notion power user; you live in Notion and understand its functionalities like filtered views and linked databases.
  • Intellectually curious, drawn to tinkering and discovery, and excited to use AI as a collaborator.

Nice To Haves

  • Some exposure to Python, understanding of loops.
  • Familiarity with Workday, Snowflake, or similar HRIS or data warehouse tools.
  • Prior experience in a business operations, finance, or sales operations context (internships count).

Responsibilities

  • Write SQL that powers headcount, attrition, and hiring funnel dashboards.
  • Transform raw people data from Workday and Snowflake into analyses that drive decisions.
  • Build models to identify areas of candidate loss and propose process fixes.
  • Execute employee lifecycle transactions in Workday (new hires, transfers, terminations).
  • Coordinate onboarding and offboarding end-to-end.
  • Triage and resolve employee requests.
  • Support compliance and audit readiness.
  • Keep headcount and requisition data clean.
  • Own the operational flow for onboarding cohorts and identify process gaps.
  • Translate people questions into data-driven narratives and recommended decisions.
  • Prototype AI-assisted workflows for tasks like onboarding, ticket triage, and compliance reminders.
  • Build and maintain the People team's Notion workspace, including pages, databases, and dashboards.
  • Serve as the People team's Notion expert, assisting colleagues with advanced functionalities.
