Peer Workshop Facilitator
About The Position
The Peer Workshop Facilitator supports the Full-time Workshop Facilitator in implementing curriculum and facilitating workshops for youth in the Workforce Development Programs at the REACH Ashland Youth Center. This role involves assisting with workshop preparation, co-facilitating sessions, and potentially leading activities. The facilitator will also participate in debrief sessions, help maintain curriculum materials, and assist with community outreach and event support. The position requires representing the organization professionally and attending team meetings and training. The REACH Ashland Youth Center serves participants ages 11-24 in Alameda County, focusing on health and wellness, social justice, and youth leadership. The workshops cover topics such as Professional Development, Life Skills, and Community Engagement Event Planning. This role may also involve facilitating in the absence of the Lead Facilitator and attending off-site field trips and events. The facilitation team works in collaboration with BACR staff, REACH staff, Career Pathway Partners, and other partners to oversee daily workshops, assist in supervising youth interns, and support enrollment, intake, retention, and interviews.
Requirements
- Must be 18+
- Ability to work Part-time (Mon-Fri, 3p-7p and periodic Saturdays once a quarter, flex time provided)
- Successful completion of Live Scan/fingerprinting (upon hire)
- Interest in youth development and community empowerment
- Experience participating in BACR programs and/or external leadership opportunities
- Willingness to learn and take initiative
- Ability to collaborate on a team and communicate clearly
- Strong sense of responsibility and time management
- Basic familiarity with Google Suite (or willingness to learn)
- Afternoons & Evening and 1 day during the weekend availability
- Reliable and clear Schedule

Responsibilities
- Support the planning and delivery of job readiness, life skills, and entrepreneurship workshops
- Help prepare workshop materials (slides, handouts, setup)
- Attend and co-facilitate youth workshops alongside supervisory staff
- Practice leading ice-breakers, activities, or reflections with peers
- Participate in workshop debrief sessions to help assess participant needs, understand group dynamics, and continuously improve workshop services
- Learn and help maintain curriculum folders and drive organization
- Assist with community outreach, social media promotion, and event support
- Represent CHALK and BACR with professionalism and care
- Attend training sessions, check-ins, and team meetings
- Participate in leadership development and skill-building opportunities
- Provide coverage for staff as apart of a leave plan
