About The Position

Pier 360 is a peer-run organization that began in 1995 as a mental health support and advocacy nonprofit. It expanded in the 2000s to include mental health and/or substance use recovery, and all employees self-identify as being in recovery. The organization encourages self-determination and self-sufficiency for people in recovery. This role is for a motivated peer to coordinate sports and other wellness activities, supporting peers in improving their wellness and social connection through these activities. The coordinator will perform a wide range of tasks to support individuals in their recovery, healing, and wellness journeys.

Requirements

  • Must be in mental health and/or substance use recovery.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and well with others.
  • Experience planning and leading sports and activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality peer support services in alignment with Pier 360 Core Values and Core Competencies for Peer Workers in Behavioral Health Services (SAMHSA).
