About The Position

Child Focus is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and dedicated Family Peer Support & Peer Recovery Support Specialist to support children, adults, parents, and families navigating behavioral health challenges, mental health concerns, substance use recovery, and complex service systems. The role combines family peer support with peer recovery support, helping people build on their strengths, develop resilience, access community resources, and work toward long-term stability and wellness. The specialist uses lived experience, personal insight, and professional peer support training to help individuals and families feel heard, supported, and empowered, while collaborating with clinicians, service providers, and community partners. The Certified Peer Support Specialist provides community- and/or home-based direct services to families involved in Mobile Response & Stabilization Services (MRSS), supporting parents and families in an intensive, in-home program. The specialist maintains a caseload of approximately 8–15 families and accompanies an MRSS clinician to in-person assessments for families with youth ages 0–20 experiencing behavioral or emotional crises. During MRSS responses, the specialist supports parents, discusses ongoing services, completes paperwork, and offers further assistance as needed. The role also involves exploring services available through MRSS, documenting services according to agency and service-contract requirements, and collaborating with the MRSS team to help families stabilize. The position is full-time, day shift, with a flexible schedule and one required late-day shift each week from 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Openings are available in Cincinnati and Mt. Orab, Ohio.
