About The Position

Child Focus is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and dedicated Family Peer Support and Peer Recovery Support Specialist to support children, adults, parents, and families navigating behavioral health challenges, mental health concerns, substance use recovery, and complex service systems. Using lived experience, personal insight, and professional peer support training, the specialist helps individuals and families build on their strengths, develop resilience, access community resources, and work toward long-term stability and wellness. The role collaborates with clinicians, service providers, and community partners to connect clients with appropriate services and promote positive outcomes. The Certified Peer Support Specialist provides community-based and/or home-based direct services to families involved in Mobile Response & Stabilization Services (MRSS), offering ongoing support to parents and families in the intensive, in-home program. The specialist maintains an active caseload of approximately 8–15 families and accompanies an MRSS clinician to in-person assessments for families with youth ages 0–20 experiencing behavioral and/or emotional crises. During MRSS responses, the specialist supports parents, discusses ongoing services, completes paperwork, and offers further assistance as needed. The specialist explores available services, including individual and family therapy, CPST/TBS, connection to ongoing services, and immediate crisis support, documents services according to agency and service-contract requirements, and collaborates with the MRSS team to assist families with stabilization. This is a full-time, day-shift role with a flexible schedule and one required late-day shift each week, from 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Openings are available in Cincinnati, Ohio, and Mt. Orab, Ohio.
