We are seeking a compassionate Peer Support Specialist to join our Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) Team in Dunn, NC and help support individuals living with mental health and substance use challenges. Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Must be a North Carolina Certified Peer Support Specialist
• Personal lived experience and recovery story related to mental illness or substance use
• Minimum two years of experience working with adults with mental health needs and/or substance use needs
• Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and current vehicle insurance for community travel
• Ability to work in various community settings and participate in rotational crisis call services
• Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and ability to support individuals in recovery

Responsibilities

• Use personal lived experience with mental health or substance use recovery to support others on their recovery journey.
• Provide mentoring, coaching, and advocacy to clients in various community settings.
• Help individuals strengthen recovery skills, develop independence, and build confidence in managing their own wellness.
• Daily travel throughout the service area.
• Participation in a rotational crisis response schedule as part of the ACT team.

• Hourly Pay: $15.00 – $20.00 per hour based on experience
• Full-time, generally Monday–Friday (community-based work may include after-hours or weekend crisis response)
