About The Position

Envision Unlimited is seeking a compassionate and motivated Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) to join our mental health team. This role is ideal for someone who has lived experience with mental health and/or substance use recovery and is ready to use that experience professionally to support others in achieving wellness, stability, and self-directed recovery. The CRSS will provide recovery-focused case management, community support, outreach, advocacy, and resource coordination in homes, community settings, partner agencies, healthcare settings, and Envision Unlimited locations.

Requirements

  • Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRSS) credential strongly preferred.
  • Candidates who are actively pursuing CRSS certification and are willing to obtain the credential within one year of hire may be considered.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Lived experience with mental health and/or substance use recovery and willingness to self-identify as part of the role.
  • Ability to work respectfully with individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of current insurance required.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use electronic health record systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provide peer recovery support, case management, and community support services to individuals receiving mental health and/or substance use recovery services.
  • Engage referred individuals through outreach and build supportive, respectful relationships grounded in hope and recovery.
  • Complete needs assessments to identify barriers and connect individuals with resources such as behavioral health care, physical health care, housing, transportation, benefits, education, employment, legal support, and community recovery resources.
  • Assist individuals in developing and working toward recovery goals using person-centered, trauma-informed, and strengths-based approaches.
  • Promote recovery principles including empowerment, wellness, respect, self-direction, and connection.
  • Advocate with and for individuals to support access to treatment, housing, benefits, reasonable accommodations, and other needed services.
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and recovery-oriented documentation in the electronic health record.
  • Collaborate with team members, supervisors, providers, community partners, and natural supports to coordinate care.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
