About The Position

Nicklaus Children's Health System and Nicklaus Children's Pediatric Specialists (NCPS) are seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Pediatric Surgeon to join a nationally recognized pediatric healthcare organization in Naples, FL. This role involves providing comprehensive surgical care for patients from newborns to young adults in a multidisciplinary setting. The position is part of a partnership to develop the future Van Domelen Institute for Women’s and Children’s Health, aiming to expand pediatric ambulatory care in Collier County. This is an opportunity to contribute to the growth of the pediatric surgery team and the new institute.

Requirements

MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
Completion of an accredited General Surgery Residency
Completion of a two-year ACGME- or RCPSC-accredited Pediatric Surgery Fellowship
Board certified in General Surgery and board certified/board eligible in Pediatric Surgery
Current BLS certification
Active, unrestricted medical license (or eligibility for Florida licensure)
Demonstrated operative experience across the spectrum of pediatric surgical care, including neonatal surgery, trauma, and critical care
Excellent communication and multidisciplinary team collaboration skills

Responsibilities

Establish and grow a dedicated Pediatric Surgery Service Line serving Collier County and surrounding Southwest Florida communities.
Shape clinical protocols, referral pathways, quality initiatives, and program development as a founding physician of the service line.
Participate in the continued growth of pediatric services aligned with the long-term vision for pediatric expansion and future development of a Women's and Children's Institute in Collier County.
Serve a rapidly growing pediatric population with a demonstrated need for local pediatric surgical care, helping reduce the need for families to travel outside the community for treatment.
Practice a full spectrum of pediatric general surgery, including inpatient, outpatient, elective, emergency, and neonatal cases, supported by a growing pediatric infrastructure.
Collaborate closely with an established network of community pediatricians, pediatric subspecialists, emergency medicine providers, anesthesiologists, and hospital leadership committed to developing pediatric services in the region.
Play a foundational role in building a new pediatric surgery program through the strategic partnership between Nicklaus Children's Health System and North Naples Hospital (NCH).
