About The Position

LifeScape is seeking a passionate full-time Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist to join our collaborative pediatric rehabilitation team. At LifeScape, you’ll have the opportunity to work with children and adolescents with complex medical, developmental, and neurological needs while providing specialized care across inpatient rehabilitation and outpatient settings. You’ll collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team and families to help each child reach greater independence, function, and quality of life. Requirements

  • Masters or Doctorate degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited Speech Language Pathology Program
  • Minimum of 2 years as an Speech Language Pathologist in an inpatient rehabilitation program and/or working with patients with needs in feeding /swallowing
  • Current Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA or eligible to enter Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY)
  • Current license or eligible for licensure in South Dakota
  • All positions require a clear background check and drug screen upon conditional offer.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized speech-language intervention in a pediatric inpatient rehabilitation setting, supporting children recovering from illness, injury, surgery, neurological conditions, and other complex diagnoses.
  • Assess and treat dysphagia and feeding challenges in infants, children, and adolescents with medical, developmental, and neurological conditions.
  • Provide care across inpatient and outpatient settings, supporting a variety of pediatric needs.
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop comprehensive, family-centered treatment plans.
  • Educate and empower caregivers to support communication, feeding, and swallowing goals beyond the therapy setting.
  • Utilize evidence-based practices to maximize functional outcomes and quality of life.
  • Work alongside an interdisciplinary team to support children requiring intensive rehabilitation following: Neurological injuries and disorders, Complex medical conditions, Traumatic injuries, Developmental disabilities, Surgical recovery.
  • Be part of a growing, highly specialized feeding program focused on: Pediatric dysphagia assessment and treatment, Feeding skill development, Oral motor and sensory-based feeding interventions, Medically complex feeding disorders, Interdisciplinary feeding evaluations and care planning.
