About The Position

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health is recruiting a Pediatric Rheumatologist to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical excellence and academic contributions, demonstrated through training and/or practice experience. This is a full or part-time position (50%-100%) requiring onsite work at a designated campus location. The role involves working with vulnerable populations, necessitating a caregiver check and subsequent checks every four years. Applicants may be considered for various faculty titles including Assistant Professor (CHS), Associate Professor (CHS), Professor (CHS), Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, Clinical Professor, Visiting Associate Professor, or Visiting Professor, with the final title determined by the candidate's experience and qualifications.

Requirements

  • Board certification or board eligibility by the American Board of Pediatrics is required by the appointment start date.
  • Completion of an accredited fellowship program in Pediatric Rheumatology is required by the appointment start date.
  • Completion of an ACGME-approved pediatric residency program is required by the start date of the position.
  • Unrestricted WI Medical license by start date of position.
  • Board-certified or board eligible in Pediatrics by start date of position.
  • Must be eligible for enrollment as a billing provider and for all necessary hospital privileges, by the start date of the position.
  • Must be eligible for continuous eligibility to work in the United States on or before the effective date of appointment.
  • Must provide proof of work authorization and eligibility to work if selected.

Nice To Haves

  • For an appointment at Associate Professor or Professor rank on CT or CHS track, candidates will meet criteria established by the department and as outlined in the School of Medicine and Public Health guidelines for promotion or appointment to Associate or Professor on the CHS or CT track.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in administrative and committee work to support the clinical and scholarly missions of UW Health and the School of Medicine and Public Health (applicable to Physicians hired on the Clinical Health Sciences (CHS) track).
  • Provide clinical service to pediatric rheumatology patients at UW Health Kids locations.
  • Engage in clinical teaching of fellows, residents, and medical students.
  • Support the teaching and clinical research missions of the division and department.
  • Carry out independent research/scholarly activity in an area of interest (CHS Track only).
